What some may miss about the inventiveness in this film, is the simple. I like that the MC has a strong sense of justice, and she stands up for herself and others no matter what she has to deal with. The seemingly western take on a very much Japanese thing, is actually a refreshing one. There are a few more story lines going on besides their slowly developing relationship too. Ryuzo’s route can be pretty serious at times, but it’s also a lot of fun at times. The guys are suspicious (and kind of panicked), Rihito is hilariously smug, and Ryuzo immediately goes into overprotective-but-dim-big-brother mode, bless him. When Ryuzo finally catches on and realizes his feelings, he becomes this bumbling, stuttering, blushing mess! As always, the new couple will be spending the whole day together, and everyone else is left to imagine just what a pair of teenagers might get up to in that time. Even the guys, especially Haruki, start nudging them together. She’s determined to be there for him when really it would be easier for her to stay away and to move on from her feelings. He doesn’t realize how his actions can be viewed, so he does things like indirect kisses and carrying the MC bridal style without even thinking about it. It’s not an understatement to say he’s dense. Too bad he has now idea what women think. Sometimes he can be too serious though and take too much blame on himself.ĭespite his scary reputation, he has a lot of female fans. He’s good with children, and he can hold his own in his rambunctious family. He’s also got a strong sense of responsibility, so he’s either at school or helping out at the store. He’s a year older than the rest of the group, so he still tries to take care of everyone.
However, the MC quickly sees that he’s still the same Ryuzo. With that and the fact that he talks to her roughly at the beginning, it’s no wonder the MC is scared of him at first! There are even rumors that he hangs out with gangsters and extorts money from people. He’s still very much the same, except…a lot of people view him as a delinquent. I genuinely enjoyed Ryu’s route and character. Since he has played that role for so long and is so comfortable with it, it takes his entire main route for him to see the MC as a potential romantic partner, and not a little sister. He’s a year older than everybody else, and as such, he takes on an older brother role in the group dynamic. Ryuzo is very protective of the MC and his friends.
